Day 1 – Phnom Penh Arrival – City Tour
On arrival at Phnom Penh Airport, you are picked up by our guide and transferred to check into your hotel and relax.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Royal Palace, built on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. The artifacts found inside include a solid gold covered Buddha and weighing 90kilograms and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. We then visit the National Museum, (also called Musee des Beaux-Arts). A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art – notably sculptures, some of them are pre-Angkorian. Overnight in your Phnom Penh hotel.
Day 2 – Phnom Penh Tour (B,L)
In the morning, you will visiti Koh Dach Island by boat on the Mekong River to see the daily life of the villagers and explore some weaving villages.
This afternoon, you will visit the Notorious Tuol Sleng Museum, once a high school. In 1975 it was taken over by Pol Pot’s security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21), then move on to Wat Phnom, then refresh and visit the Russian Market called “Psha Toul Tom Poung” by Cambodians, for some souvenirs. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 3 – Phnom Penh – Transfer to Kompong Thom (B,L)
After breakfast, our tour guide and driver will pick up from the hotel and transfer you to the Kampong Thom Province, of SiemReap. On the way we will stop to take some photo at an ancient bridge of Naga at Kompong Kdei. then we will visit Sambor Prei Kuk. This is the setting of the most impressive group of pre- Angkorian monuments, with more than 100 small temples, scattered through the forest. In the evening, drive to your hotel. Overnight in your Kompong Thom hotel .
Day 4 – Kompong Thom – Transfer to Siem Reap (B,L)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then a private transfer with the guide and driver to Siem Reap. Arrive at Siem Reap, and transfer to your hotel for check in, and some relaxation time.
In the afternoon: Visit Les Artisans D’ Angkor, designed to help young people to find work in their home villages, to provide them with a vocation and a role in society. You will visit the artisans and their crafts, the training and professional workshops, and their collection of traditional works up to the very latest designs connecting Khmer traditions to today, and later this evening watch sunset at Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5 – Siem Reap – Angkor Temples (B,L)
Today, you will explore Ta Prohm “Jungle Temple” (think Lara Croft or Tomb Raider), and overgrown by jungle. it is an amazing site to see, and then visit Angkor Wat, the most perfect Khmer temple. Its distinctive five towers are celebrated on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks – the enclosing wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond.
In the afternoon you will visit the South Gate (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk), the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas , the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6 – Siem Reap – Floating Village & Departure (B,L)
This morning, you will take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the wonders of Asia, to see floating villages and the people’s daily lives.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Old market “ Psha Chas” and then you will drive to the district of Puok to a Silk Farm. Learn the different stages of the complex process of producing handmade silk, including the growing of the mulberry trees, silk worm breeding, and training in the ancient craft of silk dyeing and weaving. After this visit you transfer to the airport and your departure flight.
