The Mekong Delta, in the southern most region of the country, is known as “the food bowl of the nation.” The rich alluvial soil here is used to grow thousands of tons of rice, and many different fruits and other edibles. The floating markets are bright and raucous places to see, as the sellers hawk their trade from their floating homes. Take a cruise through the back-waters to see the many villages and townships on the river banks, and visit places producing honey, rice-paper and pop-corn.
